In a career spanning over 23 years Ian has been extensively involved in education policy and practice across several UK Trusts, Ministry of Education and the Charter School model in the United Arab Emirates. Ian has served as Headteacher, Executive Principal, Senior School Improvement Officer, Advisor to the Education Ministry and Director of Education spanning over 13000 students. His extensive experience covers the UK curriculum, US curriculum, Trusts, MATs and holistic education reform. Ian’s interests are in the overall quality of teaching and learning, understanding cultural influences on teaching and learning and more specifically transformative education for the 21st century student. He is an advocate of innovative skills upgrading of educators, incorporating 21st century skills through world class content at all academic levels to result in global-savvy citizens ready to meet the evolving needs of an ever-changing world.
Ian’s work includes both leading and coordinating reviews and school improvement for large consortia, providing support for local authorities including aiding the development of a school improvement partner programme, as well as providing direct support as school improvement partner for a number of schools and multi-academy trusts. He has worked as an Education advisor with the Department of Education and has significant experience leading inspections in both primary and secondary schools. Ian offers bespoke training on a wide range of topics to suit all levels of audience.
